BPC 2011 - 2012 WELCOME NOTE!

Welcome to the final cycle of the BDG Business Plan Competition. Application Forms are currently available through all the regional offices of Small Industries Development Organization (SIDO) in Tanzania Mainland and those of the Zanzibar National Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture/Zanzibar Institute of Finance Administration for applicants from Zanzibar and Pemba.
As was the case in the just concluded Cycle 3, we are looking forward to training 750 SME owners as well as entrepreneurs with innovative and feasible business ideas. Grants of up to Tsh 2.8m will be awarded to the most deserving 400 winners of the initial training. These will however have to undergo a thorough verification process to qualify for the awards.
Additional three days training will be conducted across the country for the 400 participants. Focus will be placed on developing a draft business plan that addresses key business management issues including technical and technological aspects, markets and marketing, organization and management as well as a good understanding of financial analysis and translation of financial statements. The best 100 participants who will be awarded grants amounting to Tsh 5.6m each will receive final training as well as mentoring in business growth management. The final 25 winners will be proud winners of large cash grants ranging from Tsh 11.2m to Tsh 22.4m. The last day of submitting Application Forms is 4th November 2011.
