All about the Business Development Gateway, or BDG
No, unfortunately you may not. Applicants that have won prices in any previous East-African Business Plan Competition, including the BBB one, are not eligible to participate in the BDG programs, even with a different business title, since participation is on a personal basis.
Answer: All entrepreneurs of 18 years and older can participate in the BDG programmes. However, the business activity needs to be in a growth oriented sector (click to examples). Unfortunately, trade is not a growth sector.
Answer: If you have a viable business idea, and you plan to register a company, you can participate in BPC. It is not necessary to have a registered company when participating in BDP.
Answer: Sorry, only individual entrepreneurs can participate in BPC and BDP.
Answer: If the internet application is not successful, you can always apply through one of the offices of the BDG partners in your region (click to regional contacts).
Answer: There is no reward for participating in the BDG Information Day. However, when you decide to participate in BPC or BDP you might have a good chance of winning one of the more than 500 money prizes.
Answer: If you are one of the prize winning participants of the BPC or BDP, you are asked to open a bank account at NMB or PBZ, since these are the key partners of BDG for disbursement of prize money.

Answer: Yes, you can if you participated in this competition. However, the winners of the Believe Begin Become Business Plan Competition cannot participate in the BPC.
